This is our local church, part of the wider St John Rigby Parish, in the Archdiocese of Liverpool.
Simon (son-in-law) was baptised here 12 years ago and Michael (grandson) christened here 4 years ago.
Janina regularly enjoyed mass here, after her move to Atherton 8 years ago, from her previous home for 40 years, in Bolton.
Anna (daughter) is currently a governor for a R.C. Primary School in the local area.

Janina’s husband, Michael, is buried here, alongside graves for Janina’s parents and father-in-law.
Janina lost her husband, suddenly, on New Years Day, 42 years ago. Janina, her sister Anna, and parents moved to Old Trafford from Galashiels in Scotland, 70 years ago.

Flowers
Any flowers would need to be delivered to the funeral director, Abbey Funeralcare, 139 Market Street, Atherton, M46 0DF on 31st January 2024.
The florist the family are using is Zoe, at ‘Arts and Flowers’, 143 Elliott Street, Tyldesley, M29 8FL.

Memorial Donations

The family have chosen the British Heart Foundation, as Janina was very grateful for the scientific progress and clinical expertise that helped her survive a serious heart condition for many more years than originally feared. It meant she got the joy of seeing her grandson regularly, from newly born to his first day at school.
Janina survived a total of 12 heart attacks, pneumonia, sepsis and multiple organ failure, to see in Christmas 2023 and the New Year at home. She passed away peacefully, surrounded by family and her carers, on the 10th January 2024.
